Verification. Companies request verification with a legal name, registration number, and a work email. A request stays "Pending review" until a member of our team actually checks it — the Verified badge is never granted automatically.
Reporting. Every listing can be reported. Listings that receive multiple reports are flagged "Under review" so buyers and suppliers can see moderation is in progress.
How this is handled. Registrations, verification requests, and reports are all stored securely on our servers and reviewed by our admin team — not just kept on your device. Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text.

1. Acceptance of these Terms. By registering for, accessing, or using the ShipDataX platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not register for or use the Platform.
2. Eligibility and company registration. The Platform is intended for use by legitimate, existing businesses operating in or serving the maritime and shipping industry. By registering, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are registering on behalf of a real, legally existing company and are authorized to bind that company to these Terms; (b) all information you submit during registration and verification is accurate, current, and not misleading; and (c) you will keep such information up to date.
3. Nature of the Platform. ShipDataX provides a marketplace and exchange through which independent companies ("Users") may publish, browse, and respond to supply and demand listings, and exchange information and communications with one another. ShipDataX is not a party to, does not participate in, and does not broker, negotiate, or execute any agreement, contract, charter, sale, purchase, or other transaction entered into between Users. Any such transaction is solely between the Users involved.
4. No verification guarantee. ShipDataX may offer optional company verification and listing review processes. These processes are provided on a best-efforts basis only. A "Verified" badge, published listing, or successful registration does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or representation by ShipDataX as to the identity, creditworthiness, solvency, legitimacy, or good conduct of any User, nor as to the accuracy of any listing or communication.
5. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law: ShipDataX, its owners, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in any way connected with (a) any information, communication, listing, offer, or content exchanged between Users through the Platform; (b) any transaction, agreement, dealing, or dispute entered into or arising between Users, whether or not facilitated by or discovered through the Platform; (c) any inaccuracy, misrepresentation, omission, fraud, or unlawful conduct by any User or third party; or (d) any reliance placed by any User on any listing, verification status, badge, rating, or other information displayed on the Platform. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory asserted (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if ShipDataX has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
6. User responsibility. You are solely responsible for independently verifying the identity, legitimacy, and trustworthiness of any other User before entering into any communication, negotiation, or transaction with them, and for conducting your own due diligence (including, where appropriate, independent verification of company registration, creditworthiness, and cargo, vessel, or documentation authenticity).
7. Prohibited conduct. You must not use the Platform to submit false or misleading listings, impersonate another company or individual, attempt to circumvent verification or reporting mechanisms, or engage in fraud, phishing, or any unlawful activity. ShipDataX reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account, with or without notice, on suspicion of such conduct.
8. Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShipDataX from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, or any transaction or dispute with another User.
9. Changes to these Terms. ShipDataX may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be specified], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. [Dispute resolution / courts clause to be specified.]
